Bellevue Tech Expo Pitch Winners Announced

extraSlice Hosted Annual Tech Expo and Pitch Event Awards $120K in Prizes

Bellevue, WA, November 29th, 2016 –- extraSlice – the Place for Tech, announced the outcome of the extraSlice hosted, first annual Bellevue Tech Expo and Pitch Competition held on Tuesday, November 15th in front of a crowd of over 300. Participants in the competition included some of the “most interesting startups, representing some of the most innovative technology of the region,” said Meghana Subramanian, extraSlice co-founder.

The competitors included:

  • DTDOOR: An all-female owned company making a “round statement” in the “rectangular” world of cell phones, where you can build your own phone
  • FanWide: Founded on the notion that a fan’s game-watching party is a terrible thing to waste. So they developed a platform that helps facilitate, coordinate and pull off viewing parties at local establishments around the globe or online
  • MediaRails: A platform and online tool set that helps marketers for brands recruit, manage and track brand influencers, advocates and ambassadors all in one convenient place
  • Postcentive: A user generated content management platform that improves and automates the process of managing user generated content to improve marketing ROI and brand authenticity
  • Connectibles: The developer of a connected razor that lets you know when you need a new blade and automatically places an order online before running out of fresh blades.
  • Certigen Medical: An ambitious project within the medical R&D industries use of clinical trials that hopes to help to cut the costs and time of bringing new pharmaceuticals, med-tech and biotech to market
  • Robodub: The next step in commercialization of drones for recreational use
And the Winners Were . . .

MediaRails finished second, winning a Class-A office space for their startup in the newly completed extraSlice Tech Business Campus with FanWide placing first and walking away with a prize package valued at $120,000 to help their business move to the next level.

At the announcement, Binu Reghunathan, extraSlice cofounder said that they wanted to, “thank all our sponsors, the members of the judging panel, and the tech community for so showing so much support for our efforts.” He noted that the one highlight of the entire event was the ribbon cutting ceremony, with Bellevue City Mayor John Stokes presiding, commemorating the completion and Grand Opening of the extraSlice Technology Business Campus. He went on to say that, “this was a great way for us to celebrate and highlight the vibrant technology startup community that the extraSlice brand has come to represent and is a main reason why the extraSlice Technology Business Campus has become the epicenter for technology businesses of the region.”
