Facebook will now let you order food?

Some Facebook users may have noticed a new hamburger icon showing up on their mobile and desktop apps. And yes, that means exactly what you think. It’s a button to order food.

That’s right, you can now order food from your favorite eateries and restaurant without ever leaving Facebook. Web users will see a color hamburger icon, while mobile users will see a blue-and-white hamburger icon. According to TechCrunch, either of the options will allow users to place pickup and delivery orders from restaurants through Slice or Delivery.com.

Unfortunately, the feature is only being tested by a small pool of users, so you’ll have to wait before ordering your next meal directly through Facebook.

However, the whole checkout process, from ordering to paying, happens entirely on Facebook and not on one of those delivery sites.

Since the “Ordering Food” feature on Facebook is still relatively new, users have reported some bugs with the feature. Some users reported the option itself disappearing or not loading properly. Others said that the feature didn’t load nearby food places.

If Facebook food becomes a success, we could see similar trends start to follow on other social media platforms such as Twitter and Snapchat. You can already send money on those platforms, so it’s not a stretch to imagine that soon we’ll be able to tweet or snap to our favorite fast food places and restaurants to get a meal.

It’s unclear when the option of ordering food off Facebook will become available en masse. But at this rate, soon you’ll be able to turn to Facebook for everything you need to do.
